Recently, you may have seen that we introduced a new product<\/a> to our lineup \u2014 split canvas prints<\/a>! These multi-panel photo prints are a wonderful way to display landscapes, cityscapes, and larger-than-life moments. Read on to see how you can create one of these stunning statement pieces for your own space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are split canvas prints?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Split canvas<\/a> is a fun, artistic way of showcasing your photos. Instead of just one huge focal point, we split your image up into 3 or 4 different panels. When spaced accordingly and displayed together, it creates an impressive work of art. So why choose this canvas style versus a regular photo print<\/a>? With split canvas<\/a>, your image will be printed onto premium silk canvas, ensuring its longevity. And because our canvas prints are wrapped around a wooden frame, it comes ready to hang!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"How<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Snapfish offers four different size options for split canvas sets<\/a>: Set of 3 11×14, set of 3 10×25, set of 4 12×12, and set of 4 8×10. So, depending on the image you\u2019re wanting to split, you\u2019ll choose an appropriate style that\u2019s right for you.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choosing the right photo<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When selecting an image for your split canvas, you\u2019ll want to use a higher resolution photo, so your photo doesn\u2019t appear grainy, blurry, or pixelated. Luckily, our project builder will let you know if the resolution of your photo is too low. For more information, read our \u201cPhoto Resolution Tips<\/a>\u201d in the Snapfish Help guide<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now which photo should you choose for a split canvas display? It\u2019s really up to you what will work best in your space. It could be a gorgeous landscape image, close-up details of a flower, or a candid snapshot of your family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desktop Instructions:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  1. From the Snapfish home page, mouse over the \u201cCanvas Prints<\/a>\u201d tab and select \u201cSplit Canvas<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0<\/li>
  2. Once on the product page, you can select the size and number of panels you want. After you find the right product, choose \u201cCreate Now.\u201d<\/li>
  3. Now that you\u2019re in the project builder, you can add photos to your Snapfish account. Choose from multiple sources such as your computer, Facebook, Google Photos, Instagram or Flickr account.\u00a0<\/li>
  4. From here, you can select which photo you\u2019d like to use in your project. It will appear in the Photos tray in the Builder toolbar.<\/li>
  5. Place your picture by dragging it from the tray to the designated space.<\/li>
  6. After your picture has been added, you can use the hand icon to adjust the orientation of the photo or zoom in and out to adjust the crop. If your image has people in it, be mindful of where the split will be. It\u2019s generally best practice to not split a person\u2019s face or body in half but you can play around in the builder to see where the best orientation may be.\u00a0<\/li>
  7. While in the builder you can also edit the photo\u2019s color, contrast, brightness, or add filters.\u00a0<\/li>
  8. When you\u2019re finished editing your split canvas print, click \u201cReview & Buy.\u201d Then, click \u201cBack to Edit\u201d to make additional changes, or \u201cAdd to Cart\u201d to proceed to checkout.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    How to display?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    After you\u2019ve received your split canvas, how and where should you hang it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because this is such a showstopping piece, most people create split canvas to be the star of their gallery wall. Multi-piece canvas will certainly look amazing above your sofa, bed, desk, fireplace, or on a stairway landing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When figuring out the perfect spot on the wall, sometimes it\u2019s helpful to use a visual aid. A neat trick some people use is hanging pieces of paper that correspond to the size of your canvas and taping them to the wall. This helps you find the right height, angle, and avoids any unnecessary holes in the wall. You can also create a budget-friendly poster print<\/a> of your canvas and tape that to the wall to really get a feel for how it\u2019ll look in your space. We recommend displaying your split canvas prints with at least a 1\u201d space between each panel. However, we\u2019ve seen some pretty neat displays where the spacing is 3 to 4 inches apart and the effect is quite stunning.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
