Snapfish Opens Premier Concept Store Brings Online Photo Services to Retail
--Snapfish opens Alexandria, Virginia retail concept store, demonstrates benefits of adding the premier online photo service to the convenience of retail --
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - August 24, 2004 - Snapfish, the leading online photo service, today announced the opening of its concept retail store in Alexandria, Virginia. Combining the value, ease of use and selection of Snapfish's online services with the convenience of a retail store, Snapfish demonstrates how online services can enhance the retail experience and customer satisfaction, as well as boost sales and profits for existing photo retailers.
Snapfish is boldly leaping from the Internet into retail to achieve two
goals for the company and the online photo services category. First, Snapfish aims to deliver consumers at retail the incredible benefits Snapfish's online services already bring to digital photography on a PC or mobile device. Now local Snapfish customers can order prints online, in the comfort of their home, and pick-up their order at the retail store, when that option is more convenient for them. Second, the Snapfish store will demonstrate to retailers around the country and the world how online services, delivered by a premier photo service provider like Snapfish, can increase sales and profits for existing photo retail businesses.
"Since 1999, we have proven that Snapfish online photo services make sharing precious memories easy, inexpensive and fun," said Raj Kapoor President and Co-Founder of Snapfish. "However, we recognize that many people also like to have their photo processing done at retail. In fact, there are great efficiencies and expanded functionality to be derived both for customers and retailers by joining the best of the retail concept with the leading online service. With that in mind, we have developed the Alexandria Snapfish store to prove this concept and provide local residents with a retail photo processing experience that will surprise and amaze them."
The new Snapfish store is now open at:
Bradlee Shopping Center,
3618 King Street, Alexandria, VA
Snapfish Store Services Include:
"Traditionally online and retail photo services have simply coexisted, relying on their core platform's offerings without looking to each other's strengths," said Neil Cohen, Chairman of Snapfish and CEO of District Photo. "With this new store Snapfish has come up with the ideal way for retailers and online services to combine their strengths and offer customers a better experience than either one could on their own."
