Free End to End Photo Service Gains Technology Legal Expertise
SAN FRANCISCO - March 9, 2000 - Snapfish.com, the only free end-to-end photo service
offering developing, printing, digitizing, and online storing and sharing, today announced
the expansion of its executive management team with the addition of Alisa J. Baker as Vice
President of Legal and General Counsel.
Baker brings more than 15 years of technology and multimedia related legal
expertise to Snapfish.com. As a founding partner of the California law firm General Counsel
Associates LLP, she specialized in representing Silicon Valley technology companies,
ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations. In addition, Baker is a photographer
and printmaker who is expected to contribute to the strategic development of the Snapfish.com
product.
"We hope to accelerate our company's growth by adding even more talented people with the
level of expertise possessed by Alisa Baker," Raj Kapoor, CEO of Snapfish.com said.
"Having Alisa on board early is invaluable as we grow the company at an Internet speed
through strategic partnerships and additional financing."
As vice president of legal and general counsel, Baker will provide legal and
business expertise to the company and its board of directors. She will work closely
with business and strategic development in addition to heading up the company's legal
function. As a member of the executive management team, she is expected to have significant
input into the direction of the company.
Baker is a special fit with Snapfish because of her background as an artist and
photographer. A serious black and white portrait photographer, she has studied photographic
printmaking with John Sexton. When not at her "day job", Baker can usually be found in her
studio, creating mixed media works using photography, etching and monoprint. Her photographs
and prints hang in a number of private collections.
"Cultural fit is so important to Snapfish.com, particularly at this key point in our
evolution," Raj Kapoor, CEO of Snapfish.com said. "Like the rest of our team, Alisa approaches
her work with enthusiasm, commitment and humor."
Baker, who has held teaching positions at Stanford Law School and Golden Gate University,
frequently speaks on issues related to technology law. She has contributed to publications
as diverse as the Wall Street Journal, The Cursor, and the Journal of Taxation.
She holds B.A., M.A. and M.S. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania,
and she received her J.D. with honors from Georgetown University Law
Center in Washington, D.C., where she was an associate editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.
